Zoom lens

So last night I spent nearly $600 on a new lens...... It's a canon (like, duh) 70-300 and it has image stabilizer (that's the part that made it cost that much). I was looking at another lens identical (except for the image stabilizer part) that was only about $170...... I was torn between price and function so I called Sarah Barlow (cause she's the best photographer I know sarahbarlow.com) and asked which one she thought I should get. As you already know from the above I got the image stabilizer. I bought it off ebay and got what I thought to be a reasonable price. I'm still new at this whole thing so I'm not sure I got the best deal but I'll just have to learn from my experience

NASCAR

It's Sunday and I got up at about noon (I know it's sick but I went to bed at 3am). My family just finished having brunch (another sick thing but hay it's Sunday!)

Anyway NASCAR is soooooo cool!!! It's the only HUGE sports (though some may argue the sport factor) arena that allows someone to PRAY before every race, in fact they encourage it!!! On national TV! "They" don't even let kids pray in school but they let 160,000 race fans (and who knows how many on TV) pray before every race. There has got to be something wrong with that. I don't know maybe I'm just crazy but to me that just doesn't make sense (the only thing is I know I'm not crazy). I could continue on this "soap box" for like.... ever but I think I'll just let it sit so you can think about that for a while.

My '06 jetta

Let me start by saying that I love my car. Most people have a favorite item in their collection of stuff that they love like I favorite pair of jeans or jacket, sunglasses, teddy bear, pen, etc...... You get the picture. Well mine is my car, and it is a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta GLI. It has every thing I could ever want and more except all-wheel drive (they don't make a Jetta in the US that has all-wheel drive..... yet! ;-) So I like my car.... There are some people that may look down on that and say "why don't you put your money into a house or something that will gain value?" Thanks mom, and I see your point but I like my car. Actually my Mom tells a story about when I was just 8 months old and someone gave me a toy car to play with. She said they put it on the tray of my high-chair and I picked it up and said vroom-vroom. My Mother was aghast! I had never had a toy car before and no one showed me what sound cars make so how did I know that cars go vroom-vroom???? Oh well, it must be something I was born with. Even as a little kid all you had to do is give me a toy car and I'd be lost for hours just playing.

All this to say I took some pictures of my JETta and Id like to share them with you. I know I'm kinda lame but what can you do????

My life 3/16/06

Today I got up...... I know it's amazing but it's true. Today at work I had to finish my job from yesterday because the machine was acting up yesterday and I can't finish the job without the material need to complete it. I was scheduled to do another job but it was canceled because of weather. I got off pretty early today and haven't done much since. That is to say I helped a friend move some furniture around their appartment and afterward I went to another friend's house to "workout" but besides that my day was uneventful. This is my first post on a blog of any kind so I don't know what I'm doing; but here I am.

I started this blog with photography in mind but since I don't really know how to work it it will take awhile for me to get more links and pictures on it (considering that there are none at the moment). As soon as I figure it out I'll have it all......
